Youth & Family Ministry

“Our mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be ‘called out’ is to follow the harmonious law of the soul’s unfoldment.” ~ Myrtle Fillmore

Welcome to the Children's Garden where we cultivate learning and spiritual growth through a creative learning environment and a passionate team of teachers. Unity recognizes that there are many expressions of family life. All are welcome. Unity creates an affirming environment that fosters positive self-image, personal responsibility and unconditional love and acceptance. Unity:

  • Beholds all children as whole and perfect expressions of God.
  • Empowers children to fulfill their divine potential.
  • Teaches children to meditate and pray.
  • Invites children to experience a loving God.

Indeed, sharing a child’s spiritual path is an honor & privilege which we embrace with humility. We welcome all children into an experience filled with compassion ~ surrounded with enthusiasm ~ encouragement to express their divine nature ~ recognizing and honoring each one in their uniqueness ~ creating a safe space to live, move and have their being centered in God. We use a variety of Unity based curriculum enhanced with exciting, expressive, engaging activities woven into each lesson. With gratitude, we look forward to serving children & their families in these spiritual activities. Unity provides a strong spiritual foundation for children's lives.

Our Sunday morning classes are inclusive and are grouped by age and grade so that our young Truth students can study and learn (as well as teach and inspire) in an environment that includes age-appropriate lessons, activities, and peers. Our teachers are highly trained and dedicated and teach in teams of two per class. There is a unique and personalized experience for kids of all ages.

Nursery Age: Birth up to 2 years old

  • We care for our infants with tenderness and love. Our nursery facility provides for the excellent physical care of our infants through a wide variety of engaging toys, along with swings & cribs for rest time. Our nursery director, Erin O'Brien, rejoices with each child, celebrating their Christ Nature. Erin’s many years of experience helps create an environment where parents and their babies feel warm, safe and confident in the quality of care they experience ~ sharing the Light of God!

Pre-school  Age:  2 – 4 year olds

  • Our preschool program focuses on supporting toddlers as they zealously share their Christ Light ~ creating an environment that invites creative, cohesive play. We welcome each opportunity to see God’s beauty in every moment ~ engaging toddlers as they learn and grow spiritually, socially and physically. We provide age appropriate Unity curriculum enhanced with experiential lessons. Come join us as we play and pray together!

THEME FOR THE YEAR

Awake In Unity

When we awaken, we become conscious of things of God (Spirit).

When we awaken to our unity, we leave behind personality (human-ness) and tune our conscious awareness to universal oneness. Our awakening comes through prayer, in the silence; we spring forth from God within.

With gratitude, we are honored and humbled to share in your child’s spiritual experience. We look forward to a year filled with supporting our youth in awakening to the Truth of their being. When we awaken, we are empowered and this is what sets us free.

VOLUNTEERING in our Youth and Family Ministry Department

Our Youth & Family Ministry is staffed with 2 volunteers each Sunday in each age group.  To volunteer in our youth program:  fill out a Youth Ministry Volunteer Application.  We check references, complete background checks and each volunteer goes through a 2 hour training program (which is arranged around the volunteers availability/schedule).  We have quarterly volunteer meetings/trainings & support our volunteers as they continue on their spiritual path.  If you can’t download the form, come pick up an application in the Children’s Garden!
