What is a Gong Bath?
A Gong Bath is a form of vibrational/sound therapy whereby people can experience the gongs via ear, skin and bone conduction. It has been shown that the gongs can work with the body on a cellular level and could even work with organs and the skeletal system. The sound of the gong washes over you, thus the name Gong Bath. There is no water used (except to drink) or clothes removed. The sessions can be with one person or in a group.
There is no right or wrong way to approach these sessions with the gong. You can meditate, process certain emotions or events or even fall asleep if you choose. People approach this from a variety of ways including, yet not limited to, physical, emotional, consciousness and spiritual work or combinations of these. As I mentioned above, there is no right or wrong way. Do what you need to for yourself.
The sessions generally start in quiet mode and progress as is determined by the group. As the sessions progress you may experience what is called “entrainment”. Entrainment, for these purposes, is defined as the *“synchronization of organisms (only humans as a whole, with some particular instances of a particular animal) to an external perceived rhythm, such as human music”. There can be times of a greater volumes/dynamics which some people refer to as the chaos part where people can create order out of this part of the experience. This can be a journey where you can travel to where ever you wish.
Enjoy, relax and release as the gong bathes you on your journey.
